Miriam Lancaster Segrest

Miriam Lancaster (Hope) Segrest, formerly of Aiken, SC, and the past 6 years a resident of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, Sept 17, 2008. She was the daughter of the late J. Alvan and Lillie T. Lancaster of Woodruff, SC. She was a 1938 graduate of Winthrop College. She was retired from Southern Railway and United Clay Mines of Aiken. She was preceded in death by Martin L. Hope and Laurie Segrest. She is survived by one son Alvan (Katherine) Hope, Hendersonville, NC; a sister, Louise Thompson, Lancaster, SC; numerous nephews and nieces. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, Aiken for over 50 years. Graveside services will be held 1pm Saturday, Sept 27 in Historic Bethany Cemetery, Aiken, SC. Reverend Dr. David Cozad will officiate.
