AIKEN, SC – Charles Edgar “Chuck” Woodard II, loving husband of Lynn Nord Woodard, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Chuck was born in Wichita, KS to the late Lt. Col. Charles E. and Helen Josephine Hamilton Woodard. He retired as a police officer from the Columbus Police Department (Ohio) and was the first National Hockey League Security Representative for the Columbus Blue Jackets. After moving to Aiken in 2006, Chuck became a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church and was a past Elder of the church. Chuck’s life passion was golf. He was a member of Cedar Creek and Aiken Golf Clubs. He considered one of his greatest golfing accomplishments to be winning the Senior Club Championship at Aiken Golf Club in 2013. In addition to his wife, Chuck is survived by his son, Charles “Trey” Woodard III, Gainesville, FL and a sister, Deborah J. Woodard, Lakewood, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The First Tee of Aiken, 901 Houndslake Dr., Aiken, SC 29803 or to South Aiken Presbyterian Church for a newly established Property Maintenance Fund, 1711 Whiskey Rd., Aiken, SC 29803. A memorial service will be held at Hole #16 of the Aiken Golf Club, corner of Valley Green Dr. and Highland Park Dr., on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2pm with a reception immediately following at Newberry Hall, 117 Newberry St SW, Aiken, SC 29801. In the event of inclement weather, the memorial service will also be at Newberry Hall.
