AIKEN, SC – RAYMOND LEE LAIN, 62, died Friday, September 26, 2014 at VA Medical Center Uptown.
Born in San Diego, CA, Raymond was a son of the late Alpheus Kenneth and Maude Campbell Lain. He grew up in Aiken and graduated from Aiken High School. He was a retired controller from Flour Daniel Corporation.
Survivors include his partner, Benny Beam, a sister, Alice Lain King, Irmo; two brothers, A. Kenneth (Rene Chandler) Lain, Jr., Aiken, Joe Donald (Susan) Lain, Mt. Pleasant, SC; nieces and nephews, Brandon Lain, Michael (Nichole) Lain, Julie (Jason) Crook, Ryan King, Casey (Stephen) Edwards, Zeke Jones; “little sister” Starr (Phil Kinard) Dillon, Aiken; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends he loved as family. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a niece, Melanie Lain and a brother-in-law, Gary King.
The family will receive friends Monday morning beginning at 10 o’clock followed by funeral service at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery, North Augusta. Pallbearers will be Brandon Lain, Ryan King, Jason Crook, Mike Lain, Robert Rego, Vincent Davis, David Wood and Phil Kinard.
