AIKEN, SC – THOMAS ALLEN CARROLL, 55, beloved husband of Susan Findlay Carroll, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, September 29, 2014, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
A native of Colleton County, SC, Tom was a son of the late Henry Cope and Evelyn Hattie Thomas Carroll. He grew up in Williams, SC and graduated from Ruffin High School and the College of Charleston. He was a long-standing member of Smoaks Baptist Church.
Tom moved to Aiken in 1984 when he went to work at the Savannah River Plant. After a few years he started The Carroll Company, a builder of custom cabinetry, which he owned and operated for 27 years. Tom was an avid photographer. He loved fishing and boating with family and friends, especially on Lake Greenwood. He had a passion for gardening and farming, and took great pride in sharing his crops with loved ones and friends.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Susan, include two sons, Jordan Carroll and Taylor Carroll, all of Aiken and a brother, Henry Carroll (Sheryl), Williams, SC.A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening, October 07, 2014 at 6 o’clock at Shellhouse- Rivers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
Tom will be laid to rest in the family plot in Smoaks Baptist Church Cemetery Friday afternoon, October 10, 2014 at 4 o’clock.
