AIKEN, SC – PAUL RODRICK HOWARD, 83, beloved husband of Lois J. Howard, entered into eternal rest, Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his residence.
A native and life-long resident of Aiken County, Paul was a son of the late Charlie Henry and Mary Powell Howard. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean Conflict as Staff Sergeant. He retired from Graniteville Company in 1996 with over 25 years of service. He was a hard worker and was appreciated by many who knew him.
Paul was a good husband and father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family. He loved singing and gospel music. Paul loved his Lord, his church family and his Sunday School class at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife of 52 years, Lois, include a daughter, Debra (Ray) Wallace; a son, Danny (Tricia) Fincher; five grandchildren, Megan (Daniel) Marshall, Derek (Erin) Cooper, Daniel Fincher, Jenna (Adam) McCoy, Ray (Anna) Wallace; three great-grandchildren, Caedmon and Hannah McCoy and Matthew Marshall. In addition to his parents and siblings, Mr. Howard was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Howard and Donnie Fincher.
The family will receive friends Wednesday morning beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11 o’clock. Entombment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The Reverend Marion Britton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Daniel Fincher, Ray Wallace, Derek Cooper, Adam McCoy, Sam Jordan and Ray Bush.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to their angels, Benai Parker, Dale and Sam Jordan and Tri-County Hospice for the loving support and care during Paul’s illness.
