Betty P. Thorne

NEW ELLENTON, SC – BETTY MARIE PARRIS THORNE, 83, of New Ellenton, SC, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Born February 22, 1931 in Chesnee, SC, Betty was a daughter of the late Vernon and Enola Scruggs Parris. She had been a resident of New Ellenton since 1952 and was married to the late Paul Lamar Thorne for 58 years. Survivors include sons, Jackie (Lottie) Thorne, Aiken, SC and Larry (Deborah) Thorne, Williston, SC; a daughter, Jan (Gilbert) Perez, New Ellenton, SC; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn (Randy) Bell, Arab, AL. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Paulette Hallman; a sister, Jean Baird; two brothers, Harold and Donnie Parris. The family will receive friends Friday beginning at Noon followed by the funeral service at one o’clock in the afternoon at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. Private interment will take place in Spring Hill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee, SC.
