AIKEN – Mr. Charles Crockett Beason, Jr., 61, beloved husband of Ann-Marie Wingate Beason, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Town Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Jim Osteen will officiate. Interment will be private. Active pallbearers will be Larry Abney, Brian Davenport, Johnny Johnson, Brandon Rucker, Dale Sharp and Charles Barranco. Honorary pallbearers will be the City of Aiken Fire Department, the Center Fire Department and the Ole Olson Sunday School Class. Mr. Crockett was born in Aiken, SC, a son of Charles Crockett Beason, Sr., Aiken, and the late Leda Elizabeth Rhoden Beason. He was a past Kawanis member, member of the Aiken Masonic Lodge No. 156, the Aiken York Rite, Aiken Shrine Club, Jamil Temple, American Legion Post 126, and was a volunteer fireman with the Center Fire Department and the City of Aiken. He was an avid baseball fan and coached little league baseball. He was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by a daughter, Jean Elizabeth Beason, Rock Hill, SC; two sons, Charles Crockett Beason, III, Aiken, Ian Matthew Beason, Topeka, KS; two grandchildren, Kailey Amanda Beason, Lucas Austin Beason; two special step granddaughters, Lillian and Rose Westberry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Town Creek Baptist Church, in memory of Charles Beason, Jr., 250 Town Creek Road, Aiken, SC 29803.
