AIKEN, SC- DONALD EDWIN FAUGL, 91, widower of the late Alice Harnagel Faugl, died on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Georgia Regents Medical Center.
Mr. Faugl was born in Mansfield, OH, a son of the late Frank Faugl and Bertha Stoffer Faugl. Mr. Faugl has made Aiken his home since 1973. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII in Papua, New Guinea and Luzon in the Philippines, and received the Freedom of Philippines Medal. He retired in 1987 as the supervisor of the Plastic Molding Department for Thermo-Disc. Mr. Faugl is a member of Grace Church of Aiken and AARP.
Survivors include his two sons, Don Faugl (Ann) and Timothy Faugl (Sherry) of Aiken, SC; two daughters, Donna Jacquet (Jay) of Granville, OH and Patricia Budowick (John) of Longwood, FL; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Faugl of Mansfield, OH; and a sister, Linda Vrable of Mansfield, OH. In addition to his parents, Mr. Faugl was predeceased by his two brothers, Frank Faugl and Russel Faugl; and three sisters, Rosemary Eich, Evelyn Schunatz, and Jean Umfleet.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Don Soule and the Reverend Robert Riley officiating. Entombment will follow in Aiken Memorial Mausoleum with military honors.
