Delphine Cook Johnson

AIKEN – Mrs. Delphine C. Johnson, 96, died Monday, October 20, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Shaws Fork Baptist Church. Reverend Davis Barton and Reverend Mark MIller will officiate. Interment will follow in Salley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Shaws Fork Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson was born in Springfield, SC, and was a resident of Aiken since 1940. She was a weaver for the Graniteville Company, and a member of Shaws Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include her two daughters, Jeanette (Rev. Davis) Barton, Aiken, Sherrie (Lonnie) Griffin, Aiken; five grandchildren, Lisa Valentine, Davey Barton, James Griffin, Angie Van Eck, Jennifer Hollows; 12 great grandchildren. Her husband, Robert Warren Johnson preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to Shaws Fork Baptist Church, 1085 Shaws Fork Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
