Mary Welch Comer

AIKEN, SC - MARY WELCH COMER, 63, beloved wife of R. Murphy Comer, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at her residence. Mary was a daughter of the late Charlie M. and Essie Purvis Welch. She was born in Pinehurst, NC and grew up in Robbins, NC. She graduated from Winthrop University in 1975 and was an environmental engineer. Mary was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church and volunteered with Secret Santa. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Murphy, include her daughter, Megan C. (Seth) Jarrell, her son, Matt (Allison) Comer, all of Aiken, her furry son, Duck, two granddogs, Hoot and Nya and additional family in Robbins, NC, Murrells Inlet, SC and Rock Hill, SC. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 13th at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Christopher Crotwell will officiate.
