John "Marty" Martin Key

NEW ELLENTON, SC - JOHN MARTIN "MARTY" KEY, JR., beloved husband of Tamara W. Key, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014.       Born in Augusta, GA, Marty was the son of John Martin Key and Shirley Young Key. Marty was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was an avid outdoorsman and his passions were hunting, fishing and sports. Marty was a member of Talatha Baptist Church.       Survivors include his wife, Tamara; mother, Shirley; daughter, Lauren Haley Key; son, William Colton Key, all of New Ellenton; a sister, Wanda Key (Gary) Shepard, Aiken; nephews, Brandon Smith, Aiken, Justin Smith, New Ellenton; great-niece, Madison Smith; mother-in-law, Harra W. Venable, Beech Island; father-in-law, David S. Wise III, North Augusta; special family friend, Tyler Cowart.       The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at Noon at Talatha Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Sandifer, Brad W. Moseley, Troy Usry, Charles Freeman, Ron Doyle and Clay Frazier.       Memorial contributions may be directed to the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
