AIKEN, SC - William J. “Bill” Rundorff, 93, of Aiken, died Tuesday morning, December 2, 2014, at Hitchcock Place assisted living facility. He was born on November 21, 1921 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of the late Julius and Emma Rundorff. He is survived by his much-loved wife Jean B. Rundorff to whom he was married on May 19, 1946.
Bill attended the University of Kentucky and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII. Before retiring, Bill worked as a sales manager for General Foods, now Kraft Foods, and after moving to Aiken became an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Houndslake Golf Club. He is best remembered for his work as a founding member of The Shakers, a local support group for people afflicted with an essential tremor. Bill will be missed by his sons, William (Ann) Rundorff, of Aiken and James (Terry) Rundorff of Athens, Georgia; his grandchildren Jason (Courtney) Rundorff of Naples, Florida, Lindsay (Richard) Noberini of Spring Hill, Florida, Elizabeth (Brad) Smith of Greenville, South Carolina, Caleb (Ellen) Rundorff of Greenville, South Carolina and Adrienne (Lance) Knowles of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and his great-grandchildren Samuel and Emma Rundorff, Richard Noberini, Jr., Piper and Tessa Smith, Lynlee Rundorff, and Tristan and Theodore Knowles. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Rd., Aiken, South Carolina 29803.
