Bertha Stokes Carter

AIKEN –Bertha Stokes Carter, 56, died Nov. 1 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Cemetery. She was born in Anderson, SC to the late William L. Stokes and Lillie Mae Tanner Stokes of Aiken. She was a Lab Technician at Savannah River Site. She was a member of Couchton Baptist Church. Survivors besides her mother include a daughter, Emily (John) Garrison and a son Wes Carter, Aiken. Other survivors include a brother, Ted (Kelia) Stokes, niece; Amy (Aaron) Gibbs, nephew: Tanner Stokes all of Anderson, SC.
