WINDSOR, SC – CLYDE MONROE STANLEY, 90, beloved husband of Doris Shamrock Stanley, died Tuesday, November 04, 2008 at Heartland Hospice in Augusta, GA.
A native of Culpepper, VA, Mr. Stanley was a son of the late James and Loreene Wolfrey Stanley. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II and was retired from the New York State Department of Transportation. He had lived in Aiken County since 1985 and was a member of Montmorenci First Baptist Church and Pairs and Spares.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Doris, include five daughters, Sharon Razzani, Jacksonville, FL, Linda (William) Whaley, Scio, NY, Judith (Roy) Smith, Windsor, Bonnie Brewer, Aiken and Laurie Jackson, Windsor, two sons, Ronald (Carole) Proefrock, North Charleston, SC, and Charles (Ashley) Stanley, Graniteville, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, five sisters, Frances Deal, Edith Jenkins, Thelma Lutz and Elsie Lane, all of Virginia and Melzie Woodward of Ohio, a brother, Douglas Stanley, Fredricksburg, VA and a close family friend, Debra Smith, Windsor.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Montmorenci First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Nichols officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
