Ellen M. Sillasen

AIKEN – Mrs. Ellen M. Sillasen died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday at Millbrook Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Eddie Leopard will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom McCullough, A. Kyle Adams, Tom Young, Sr., Bill Ayers, MD, Samuel C. Stevens, III. Mrs. Sillasen was born in Anniston, AL, a daughter of the late Robert and Martha Andrews Mange. As a resident of Jacksonville, FL, she was a clerk of court. She moved to Aiken in 1982, and worked as a realtor. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, and played in a card group at Odell Weeks every Tuesday at lunchtime. Survivors include her daughters, Grace S. (Jerry) Waters, Aiken, Robbie S. (Robert) Wilson, Aiken, Elaine S. (Dave) Mulder, Crystal Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Lisa M. Adams, Jenny W. Stephens, Brooke Mulder, Chase Mulder, Jason W. Waters, Hank McCullough; five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, her husband, Donald B. Sillasen, and four brothers, Joseph, Ralph, Claude and Arthur Mange preceded her in death. Memorials may be directed to the Aiken Heart Association, 1003 Hammond Road, Aiken, SC 29803.
