Ned Bush McClain

AIKEN, SC – NED BUSH McCLAIN, 83, beloved husband of Betty Jordan McClain, died Monday morning, December 15, 2014 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center. A native of Anderson, SC, Ned was a son of the late David Willis and Ruth Bush McClain. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of The University of South Carolina. Ned had lived in Aiken for the last 50 years and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass as a cost accountant. He was a big Gamecocks fan, an avid bowler and loved growing tomatoes. Survivors, in addition to Betty, his wife of 53 years, include a son, John Jordan McClain; a daughter, Esther (Don) Patterson, all of Aiken; three grandchildren, Christina (Jason) Still, Aaron (Helen) Patterson, Callie Patterson; four great-grandchildren, Nolan and Paisley Still, Caden and Wylder Patterson; two brothers, Randall (Dorothy Jean) McClain, Anderson, SC, Kenneth (Tommie) McClain, Greenville, SC; a sister, Louise Banks, Decatur, AL. Ned was preceded in death a sister, Rebecca Benjamin. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Rev. Chris Masters officiating.
