AIKEN – Mrs. Katherine Iverson Phillips, 84, died Saturday, November 8, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church. Reverend Dr. David Cozad and Jane Keisler will officiate. Interment will be held privately in Sunset Memory Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Palmetto Sertoma Club. Mrs. Phillips was born in Clinton, Iowa, a daughter of the late Walter and Emma Etchison Iverson. She moved to Aiken in 1954, and worked as an administrative assistant with the SC Vocational Rehabilitation Program. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Palmetto Sertoma Club. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Phillips, Huntsville, AL, Janice (Arthur) Rudolph, Nashville, TN; two sons, Brent (Sue) Phillips, Aiken, Stephen (Mary) Phillips, Aiken; five grandchildren, Shane (Amanda) Phillips, Shannon (Jonathan) Brown, Travis (Monica) Phillips, Sophia Rudolph, Ava Rudolph; two great grandchildren, Ashley Carter and Joab Brown. In addition to her parents, her husband, Roy D. Phillips, a brother, Arthur Iverson, and a sister, Grace Kucera, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sertoma Foundation, 1912 East Meyer Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64132.
