AIKEN, SC – THE REVEREND FRANKLIN L. WORKMAN, SR., 78, beloved husband of Gladys J. Workman, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center in Aiken, SC.
A native of Bancroft, WV, Franklin was a son of the late Brady L. and Audrey Farley Workman. He lived most of his life in West Virginia and retired from Union Carbide in Charleston, WV. Rev. Workman was an ordained Baptist minister and served as pastor of Kanawha Baptist Church in Eleanor, WV for 20 years prior to moving to North Myrtle Beach, SC in 1993. He was currently a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church in North Myrtle Beach and had lived in Aiken since 2013.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Gladys, include a son, Frank L. (Sheri) Workman, Jr.; two grandsons, Frank L. Workman III and William B. Workman, all of Aiken; four sisters, Ann Riffee, Donnie Parkins and Sandra Parkins, all of Red House, WV and Brenda Landers, Poca, WV. He is also survived by many loved ones and friends. Franklin was preceded in death by a brother Larry of Costa Rica and a daughter Tammy of WV.
