AIKEN – Mr. George Brown, Jr., 67, died Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Thankful Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Freddie Lee Bush and Reverend Sheldonia Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery Mr. Brown was born in Barnwell County, SC, a son of the late George, Sr. and Mary Watts Brown. He was a member of Thankful Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to fish and loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his beloved wife, Mammie Washington Brown; a daughter, MaryLou Brown, Salley, SC; a son, George Brown, III, Salley; two stepdaughters, Emily Rose Franklin, Queens, NY, Stacey R. Washington, Aiken; four stepsons, James Washington, Aiken, Willie Edward Franklin, Aiken, Rodney Cal Franklin, Aiken, Steven Frank Franklin, Savannah, GA; two sisters, Laura Brown and Susie Green, both of Aiken; two brothers, King and Edward Brown, both of Williston, SC.
