AIKEN - Mr. Edward Thomas Gardner, 89, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Fred Andrea III will officiate. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and Clif Hall and Ron Stevens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Woodward, Bill Bentley, Lauren Fair and Ernie Allen.
Mr. Gardner was born in Dayton, OH, a son of the late Anthony and Abbie McGahee Gardner. He was a lumber inspector for the Southeastern Hardwood Company, a warehouse foreman for Pepperidge Farm, a member of Palmetto Golf Club, and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Frances Hall Gardner; two daughters, Carol (Roger) Ridenour, Asheville, NC, Abbie (Jimmy) Floyd, Sumter, SC; a son, Mike (Joan) Gardner, Graniteville; five grandchildren, Davey Ridenour, Russ Ridenour, Robbie Ridenour, Derek Floyd and Katie Gardner; a great granddaughter, Sophie Ridenour; a sister, Vivian Leon, Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3157, Aiken, SC 29802.
