Shirley P. Shuford

AIKEN, SC – SHIRLEY P. SHUFORD, 72, beloved wife of Gerald D. Shuford, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at GRU Medical Center, Augusta, GA after suffering a head injury in a fall. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Shirley was a daughter of the late Willis T. and Corine Hankinson Payton. She was a graduate of Aiken High School and retired from AT&T and the United States Department of Agriculture. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband Gerald, include a son, Kent B. Shuford (Victoria), Harrisburg, NC and three grandchildren, Jake, Holly and Sara Shuford. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon beginning at 2 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, followed by her funeral service at 3 o’clock. Her cousin, The Rev. Michael A. Shuford will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
