AIKEN - A resident of Aiken SC since 1988, Jean Elizabeth (Betty) Hoag Robinson, of 7 Saint Anne’s Court, died on Saturday December 6 at age 89. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 13 at 1 PM, at the First Presbyterian Church in Aiken. The Reverend Martha Ebel and Reverend Dr. David Cozad will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service. Betty Robinson was the daughter of Gerald H. Hoag and Jean McLetchie Hoag, and grew up in Ann Arbor MI. She is survived by four sons and three beloved daughters-in-law, Geoffrey W. Robinson and his wife Jeremy of Palo Alto CA, Christopher A. Robinson of Moss Beach CA, John K. Robinson and his wife Linda of Bolton CT, and James R. Robinson and his wife Kathy of Littleton CO. Betty had five grandchildren, Caroline Robinson of San Francisco CA, Emilie and husband Pete Zeri of Santa Clara CA, Brett Robinson of Bolton CT, Laura and her husband Daniel Stoloski of Lincoln CA, and Anne Robinson of Littleton CO; and three great-grandchildren, Harmony and Summer Zeri, and Gianna Stoloski. She was predeceased by granddaughter Michelle Robinson, grandson Benjamin Robinson, and son Jerry Robinson. Her former husband Warren R. Robinson lives in Manchester CT. Mrs. Robinson completed her undergraduate work and earned her Master’s degree in clinical psychology at the University of Michigan. She spent her professional career as a teacher in South Huntington NY. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aiken. She served as a Stephen minister and a Circle leader. She also was a member of the P.E.O Sisterhood, the American Association of University Women, the Aiken Opera Society, and the Houndslake Garden Club. Formerly she served as a volunteer with the Aiken hospital auxiliary and also delivered meals for The Council on Aging.
