AIKEN, SC – CLARENCE EDWIN BEAM, 82, beloved husband of Patricia Miller Beam, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Veteran’s Victory House, Walterboro, SC following an extended illness.
A native of Lincoln County, NC, Clarence was a son of the late Clarence Earl and Ollie Harden Beam. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He resided in Aiken since 1954 and owned Beam’s Supply for 53 years. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church, Aiken Masonic Lodge #156 and Queen City Chapter #141 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Pat, include two daughters, Sherrie Beam Harman, Aiken, Debbie Beam Caver (David), North Augusta; four grandchildren, Tiffany White (Kenneth), Martin Caver, Amy Scales (Charles), Mary Helen Smith (Jeremy); four great-grandchildren, Cameron Pruitt, Seth Crawford, Collin Crawford and Hunter Crawford. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Elaine Beam and his grandson, James Troy Crawford.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 4 until 6 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Phillip Dunn, The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters and Tommy Adair officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Billy West, Courie Dennis, Randy Robinson, Ron Wheeler, Don Philbeck and Jimmy Miles. Honorary Pallbearers will be Millbrook Whittlers and Senior Men’s Sunday School Class.
