Rufus Herod Gaddy, Jr.

CLINTON, SC – Mr. Rufus Herod Gaddy, Jr., 95, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015. He was married for 63 years to the late Louise Parker Gaddy. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in Aiken Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Brian Coulter officiating. Mr. Gaddy was born in McColl, SC, a son of the late Rufus Herod and Eva Gaddy.  Prior to moving to Clinton, Mr. Gaddy lived in Aiken, working for E.I. DuPont as a Chemical Engineer at the Savannah River Plant.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Aiken, and also served in the US Navy during WWII. He is survived by two sons, Roger Gaddy, MD., Winnsboro, SC, Donald (Raye) Gaddy, Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Bryant (Jon Mikel) Byrne, MD., Parker (Elizabeth) Gaddy, MD, Jeffrey (Tara) Gaddy, Jaclyn (Russell) Pate; great grandchildren, Alexandra Gaddy, Adam Gaddy, Walker Gaddy, McLean Gaddy, Kylie Byrne, Kathryn Byrne and Troy Pate. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Gaddy was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Louise Gaddy Walker and a grandson, Robert Kyle Walker, MD.
