AIKEN, SC – REV. TROY CLINTON PAYNE, 80, beloved husband of Flossie Marie Hagerman Payne, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at his residence.
A native of Jolo, WV, Rev. Payne was a son of the late Thomas Colbert and Mary Jane Mullins Payne. He was the former pastor of Raysal Church of the Living God, Raysal, WV, Yukon Trinity Assemblies, Yukon, WV, Garland Church of the Living God, Garland, WV and Mile Branch Church of the Living God, Mile Branch, WV. He moved to Batesburg, SC in 1990 and on to Aiken, SC in 2005. Rev. Payne attended New Holland Pentecostal Holiness Church in New Holland, SC. He devoted his life to his Lord, family and music.
Survivors in addition to his wife Flossie, include his daughter and son-in-law, Rose Marie and Mark Layton, Aiken, SC; his sister, Dorothy Phillips (Dave), Zanesville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Homer Payne, Jack Payne, Harold Payne, Charles “Chuck” Payne, Rufus Payne; sisters, Edith King, Katheleen Fletcher Mullins.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Monday morning at 11 o’clock at New Holland Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Virgil Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, Lexington, SC.
