AIKEN, SC-Clarence Chapman, 82, died Monday December 15, at University Hospital.
He was a life long resident of Aiken and a member of the Montmorenci First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Rowland Chapman, and his parents, Raymond and Maybelle Bonnette Chapman.
Mr. Chapman served in the Army during the Korean War as a Medic. He owned and operated Chapman’s Grocery and Oak Ridge Hunting Preserve for over 42 years. He was a member of the Tuesday Night Supper Club and he loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include two daughters Wyman and Marilyn Inabinet and Timmy and Colleen Gantt both from Aiken, grandchildren Capt Carl and Stayce Kleinholz, Elgin, SC, Jeremy and Anna Inabinet, Evanston, IL, Joshua Gantt, Seneca, SC, and Justin Gantt, Aiken, great-grandchildren, Sarah and Noah Kleinholz, sister, Eloise Gunter, Salley, SC.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:00 AM at Montmorenci First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Smart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Charles Bodiford, Frank Sandifer, Lester Hall, Dr. Charles Timmerman, Eric Schmit, Bill Bishop, and Mark Fulmer.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, or at daughters house, 1633 Joyner Pond Rd, Aiken, SC.
