AIKEN, SC - Dr. Kenneth Richard Braun, 83 died surrounded by family on April 12, 2015 in Aiken, South Carolina. Dr. Braun was a great family man, loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Juanita Braun, his daughter and son-in-law Lori and Dean Blissit, and grandchildren Sydney Royer, Brai Royer, Allie Blissit, Katie Blissit and Corrie Blissit of Tallahassee, Fl; his son and daughter-in-law Kenneth Richard Braun Jr and Nancy Braun and grandchildren Sean Willis and Emma Braun of Aiken, SC; his daughter and son-in-law Dr.'s Misty and Scott Anfinson and grandchildren Kayla Anfinson, Collin Anfinson and Kelsey Anfinson of Bluffton, SC; his daughter Heather Braun and granddaughter Isabella Braun of Aiken, SC; and his brother and sister-in-law Owen and Rosemary Braun of Atlanta, GA. Dr. Braun was born on February 22, 1932 in Rochester, NY, to E.J. Braun and Eunice Loraine Braun. A graduate of Wake Forest University and Southern College of Optometry, he opened his private practice on Richland Ave where he worked for more than 50 years. Dr. Braun was a socially, active man who was deeply involved in the Optemetric Association for the majority of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. His family and friends will always remember him as a family man and all around great person. Memorial services will be held at Aiken’s First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave., NW Aiken, SC 12:30 Friday, April 17, 2015 with the Rev. Brian Coulter officiating. A reception will follow at the church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dr. Braun's life.
