Bobby Gene Griffin Sr.

Warrenville - Bobby Gene Griffin, Sr., 71, died Dec. 17, 2008 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at First Baptist Church of Gloverville with the Rev. Carl Hayes and Rev. Walter “Buster” Youngblood officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Mausoleum with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. He was born in Oakpark, GA to the late Lewis and Ruby Keen Griffin. He moved to Warrenville forty-two years ago. He served in the Army National Guard and retired from Aiken Medical Center. He was the owner of Bobby’s Bar-B-Que Buffet and Catering, member of First Baptist Church of Gloverville, Commissioner of Valley Public Service Authority, member of Scottish Rite, Shriner, Thirty Second Degree Mason Lodge 99 in Graniteville, Board of Directors of Midland Valley Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of the Heritage Corridor. Survivors include his loving wife Barbara Williams Griffin and beloved children, Sherolyn (Danny) Bishop, Merriwether, SC, Susan (Charles) Payne, Fuquay Varina, NC and Bobby Gene (Candy) Griffin Jr., Warrenville, SC, seven grandchildren, Taylor Bishop, Cody Bishop, Caroline Bishop, Griffin Payne, Alexander Payne, Makenzie Griffin, and Madison Griffin, brother, Kenneth Griffin, Aiken and two sisters, Dorothy Ferguson, and Darlene Skinner, Augusta, GA. Pallbearers will be Danny Bishop, Taylor Bishop, Cody Bishop, Charles Payne, Pat Keen, Carlyle McCracken, Charles McCracken, Jarrod McCracken. Honorary pallbearers will be Griffin Payne, Alexander Payne, Billy Martin, Vance Singleton and the employees of Bobby’s Bar-B-Q.
