Gerald J. Myers

AIKEN, SC – GERALD J. MYERS, 68, beloved husband of Christine Ploszaj Myers, died Friday, April 17, 2015 at his residence in Aiken, SC. A native of Hartford, CT, Gerald was a son of the late Mary Grello Myers. He lived most of his life in South Windsor, CT and was a retired sergeant with the East Hartford Police Department. Following retirement from the police department, Gerald worked as an investigator for the Hartford County Public Defender’s Office, and then as an investigator for Citi Group. He retired to Florida for 2 years prior to moving to Aiken in 2007. Survivors include his wife and best friend, Christine; two sons, David J Myers (Shari), Chaplin, CT, Jeffrey J. Myers, Westfield, MA; two grandchildren, Caitlin Innis and David Myers, Jr. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, April 25, 2015 from 2 until 4 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with a prayer service being held at 3:30.
