Helen Jo Hacker Ashley

AIKEN – Mrs. Helen Jo Hacker Ashley, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2015 in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Donny Royster officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jim Andrews, Caleb Ashley, Seth Hildebrand, Tilden Hildebrand, Michael Eubanks, David Jones, and King Laurence. Mrs. Ashley was born in Carter, OK, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruby Mae Woodson Hacker. A resident of Aiken since 1979, she was a clerk for E.I. DuPont, a member of Shaws Fork Baptist Church, and a member of the Town and Country Garden Club. Mrs. Ashley will be remembered as a loving wife and mother that loved art, music and working with flowers. She also served with ACTS. Survivors include her beloved husband, Ollie Clifton Ashley, Jr.; a daughter, Charlotte Andrews, La Grange, GA; a son, Ollie Clifton Ashley, III, Aiken; two grandchildren, Jim Andrews and Caleb Ashley; nephew, Terry Stephens; niece, Zina Stephens; daughter in law, Kimberly Ashley. A sister, Odessa Mae Hacker, preceded her in death. Memorials may be directed to Shaws Fork Baptist Church, 1085 Shaws Fork Rd., Aiken, SC 29805.
