AIKEN – Mr. James Green Cato, Jr., 92, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Pepper Hill Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday from the graveside in Westview Cemetery, Moultrie, GA. Reverend William McCoy will officiate. Military honors will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Wyman, Charlie Wyman, Rusty Davidson, Jeremiah Hutto, Doug Eldgridge and Joey Fowler.
Mr. Cato was born in Moultrie, GA, a son of the late James Green Cato, Sr., and Pauline West Cato. He was a resident of Aiken since 1963, a bookkeeper, a member of the Lions Club, the VFW, and Millbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Cato (Neill) Wyman, Aiken; three grandchildren, Benjamin Neill Wyman, Charles Hastings Wyman, Amanda Lynn Wyman; three sisters, Louise Pope, Moultrie, Mary (Raiford) Dunlap, Moultrie, Ruth (Calvin) Mims, Dawson, GA.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cato’s wife, Alice Davidson Cato, and his son, Richard Anthony Cato, preceded him in death.
