Louise Head Babb

AIKEN – Mrs. Louise Head Babb, daughter of Carrie B. and Ashton Head, widow of Joe B. Babb, died Thursday, May 21, 2015. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the Millbrook Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Fred W. Andrea, III officiating. She is survived by her son, Dr. Alan Mark (Kelly) Babb, Montgomery, AL; her daughter, Joanne B. (John) Foley, Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Ashton, David and Charlie Babb. Louise worked at Parris Island, SC, Corps of Engineers, and for the Atomic Energy Commission (now DOE), near Aiken. In Suffolk, VA, she worked at Suffolk Christian Church as the minister’s secretary, and also at First Federal Savings and Loan. When Louise and her family returned to Aiken in 1962, she worked as a teacher at Aiken Junior High School for 18 years and at Schofield Middle School for one year. She was active in Four Seasons Garden Club, the Town and Country Club, and her Sunday school class at First Baptist Church, Aiken. Louise loved to travel and see new and interesting places, and enjoyed her three grandsons when they came to Aiken. Her greatest reward was meeting her former students who recognized her and made her feel she had influenced their lives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, P.O.
