AIKEN, SC – LODEMA "MICKIE" VAUGHAN JENKINS, 78, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at her residence.
Born in Winchester, TN, Mickie was a daughter of the late Charlie Luther and Bertha Florence Hughes Vaughan. She moved to Aiken in 1975 and was a longtime member of Levels Baptist Church where she was the former church clerk, a choir member and Sunday school teacher. She retired from Owens – Corning Fiberglass.
Survivors include four sons, John Collins, North Augusta, Derek Joshua Champion, Pickens, SC, James “Al” Blackburn, Windsor, Randy Blackburn (Angie), Windsor; four grandchildren, Brandy, Bradley, Dylan and Dallis Blackburn; four great-grandchildren, Gage Rogers, Owyn Blackburn, Kara Blackburn, Natalie Crane; four sisters, Pat Warren, McDonough, GA, Roberta Ferguson, Aiken, Judy Couch (Johnny), Mauldin, Linda Thomas, Warrenville.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at Levels Baptist Church with The Rev. Clint Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mickie’s sons and grandsons will be pallbearers.
