AIKEN – Mr. David McGuire Burke, 83, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Aiken Medical Center. Loving husband of Eva Smalley Burke. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 28 at Historic Bethany Cemetery with the Rev. Drew Kornreich officiating. Mr. Burke was born in Jewell Ridge, VA to the late Mathes McGuire and Susan Belle Brewster Burke. He came to Aiken in 1954 and was a retired electrician. He was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church and a Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors besides his wife include a daughter, Kathleen (Daniel) Johnson, Roswell, GA, sons; Mathes ( Dorothea ) Burke, II, San Diego, CA and James Kilpatrick Burke, Charlotte, NC.; grandchildren, Mathes McGuire Burke, III, Andrew Michael Burke, and Charles Ellis Burke .
