Greta Burris Mills

AIKEN, SC - Greta Mills, 68, of Aiken, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. There will be a service to celebrate her life on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 am at Cedar Creek Church (Building 4) 3001 Banks Mill Rd. Aiken. A daughter of the late Preston L. Burris and Virginia L White, she was born in Florence, SC where she lived before moving to Aiken in 1971. Greta was a fantastic cook and loved hosting family Christmases. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach and shagging. Greta was a selfless woman who touched many lives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Greta is preceded in death by her husband, Roger D. Mills (of 39 years). She is survived by two daughters; Donna Barnes (Darren), Atlanta, GA and Paula Gibson (Johnny), Greenville, SC, sisters; Jan Easton (Frank) of Pawley's Island, Sandi Baird (Jerry) of Fuquay Varina, NC; brothers, Wil Burris (Lynn) of Hendersonville, NC and LeGrand Burris (Carol) of Darlington; fiancé Bill Anderson and many nieces and nephews whom she held dear. “GiGi” is also survived by four grandchildren who were the light of her life; Hayden and Cameron Barnes and Will and Sam Gibson.
