NEW ELLENTON, SC – ERNEST LEE JOSEY, SR., 88, beloved husband of Dorothy Holton Josey, died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. A native of Johnson County, GA, Ernest Lee was a son of the late Willis E. and Zelma Price Josey. He lived in Aiken County since 1960 and retired after 38 years of service from DuPont at the Savannah River Site. Ernest Lee was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church and the Berea Pals Sunday School Class. He loved hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; a daughter, Linda Ricks (Larry), Aiken; two sons, Lee Josey, Jr. (Sandra), Aiken, Bill Josey (Marilyn), Aiken; eight grandchildren, Troy Blanton (Alison), Angela Josey, Andrew Josey, Donald Josey, Allison Josey, Brihanna Maas, Billy Ricks (Bridgett), Missie Redd (Rusty); six great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Blanton, Max Cullipher, Sammie Ricks, Hannah Ricks, Jesse Redd, Aidan Redd; a sister, Martha Lou Woodard, Sandersville, GA; a brother, Alvin Josey (Betty), Augusta, GA. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilmer Josey and Forest Vickers Josey. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon beginning at 2 o’clock at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church, New Ellenton followed by the funeral service at 3 o’clock. The Revs. William Eaves and Richard Nichols will officiate. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alvin Holton, Wayne Holton, Ricky Holton, Louis Swint, Wayne Josey and David Josey. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Berea Pals Sunday School Class.
