AIKEN, SC – WILLIAM D. “BILL” MUSSELWHITE, 57, died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his residence.
A native of Pacolet, SC, Bill was a son of the late James Franklin and Janice Farr Musselwhite. He had lived in Aiken since 1976. Bill became a volunteer firefighter while in high school. He began as a volunteer with the Aiken Department of Public Safety in 1988 and became a fulltime firefighter and maintenance mechanic in 1995. Bill was a dedicated firefighter and volunteered with numerous fire departments and rescue squads in Aiken County. He was a member of the Aiken County Haz-Mat team. Bill loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Patriot Guard. He was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joanie J. Musselwhite; a son, Matthew W. Musselwhite, Aiken; two sisters, Deborah Hallmark (David), Greenville, SC, Christina Burgess (Robert), Millington, TN; an uncle, Etherage Farr (Alice), Lyman, SC; a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Earl Musselwhite.A celebration of Bill's life will be held Monday morning, June 29, 2015, at 11 o’clock at Cedar Creek Church, Banks Mill Campus with The Rev. Philip Lee officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aiken Department of Public Safety and all other emergency personnel.
