Jerry D. Wilkins

AIKEN, SC – JERRY D. WILKINS, 58, beloved husband of Brenda Barnes Wilkins, died suddenly, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his residence. A native and life-long resident of Aiken, Jerry was the son of Gale Dudley Wilkins and the late Herbert I. Wilkins.  He was employed at SCE&G for 34 years.  Jerry enjoyed being a lineman with his most rewarding moment being when he earned his own service truck.  He loved his wife and children and enjoyed spending time with family.  Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a member of Cedar Creek Church. Survivors include his wife, Brenda; mother, Gale; son, Cody H. Wilkins; daughter, Paula L. Wilkins, all of Aiken; two sisters, Jeryl Peebles (Randy), Wilmington, NC, Janice A. Wilkins (Jon Silverberg), Aiken; mother-in-law, LaVerne K. Bonnette, Williston; sister-in-law, Wanda Gray (Jack, who was like a brother), Aiken. A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon, July 26, 2015 at 2 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Phillip Lee officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
