Sarah Anne Owen Hightower

AIKEN – Mrs. Sarah Anne Owen Hightower, 83, died Tuesday, August 24, 2015 while visiting her daughter in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hightower was born in Tuscon, AZ to the late John W. and Annie B. Russell Owen. She is survived by her six children, Stephen (Tammy) Hightower, Karen (Mark) Uhle, Trudy (Warren) Voltz, Greg (Dawn) Hightower, Bea (Art Aiken) Hightower, and Katie (Doug) Walker; 15 grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Modla; brother, John Owen. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hightower was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Osgood Hightower, Jr. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 29 at Old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Park Ave., followed by interment in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta. Pallbearers will be Russell Hightower, Andy Hightower, Jake Voltz, Alex Hightower, Cullen Hightower, Michael Uhle, Hugh Aiken and Peter Cato. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Tamassee DAR School, 1925 Bumgardner Dr., Tamassee, SC 29686.
