NEW ELLENTON, SC – JAMES EARL SHUFORD, 77, widower of Elizabeth “Libby” Heath Shuford, died suddenly Monday morning at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Burnsville, NC, James was a son of the late Carl and Dorothy Shuford. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Berlin Crisis. James lived in Aiken County since 1952 and was a retired supervisor with Owens Corning Fiberglass with 27 years of service. He also owned and operated Southside Produce for 27 years before retiring in 2014. James was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church and the Aiken Masonic Lodge #156.
Survivors include his daughter, Terry Cannon (Steve), Aiken; two brothers, Gerald D. Shuford, Aiken and Morris C. Shuford, New Ellenton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at Town Creek Baptist Church with The Revs. Clint Smith, Don Lemon and Jim Osteen officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Vickery, Al Cubbage, Chuck Lengyel, Eddie Carter, Kent Shuford and Bernard Rowland.
