Harriet Henderson Tewkesbury

AIKEN – Harriet Lee Henderson Tewkesbury, 87, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 28, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Brian Coulter and the Reverend Holly Shoaf-Okula officiating. A private family interment will be held in Bethany Cemetery. Born in Augusta, GA, she was the only child of the late Elmore Sullivan Henderson and Marie McNair Henderson. She was a lifelong resident of Aiken and enjoyed spending her summers in Cedar Mountain, N.C. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, The Junior Student Club and Marathon Bridge-A-Rama. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Tewkesbury (Harry) Busbee, Columbia, S.C., Jane Marie Tewkesbury, Spartanburg, S.C.; sons, Alan Matthew (Karen) Tewkesbury, Spartanburg, Edward Palmer “Ted” (Fran) Tewkesbury, Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Matt Tewkesbury, William Busbee, Rick Tewkesbury, Edward Tewkesbury, Preston Busbee, Gracie Tewkesbury and Annie Tewkesbury; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation for the care and support of Shadow Oaks Assisted Living Community.
