AIKEN, SC – JAMES WILLIAM SCHUON, 93, beloved husband of Ruth E. Schuon, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at his residence.
A native of Allentown, PA, James was a son of the late John William and Ellen Bailer Schuon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He lived in Allentown most of his life and retired from United Gas Improvement Co. in Bethlehem, PA. He moved to Aiken in 1988 and was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. He was a former member of Aiken Outdoors.
Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Ruth; a daughter, Nancy Jarvis, Aiken; three sons, Matthew Schuon, Fountain Hill, PA, Luke Schuon, North Hampton, PA, John Schuon, Danielsville, PA; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Larue Olsen, Neffs, PA; a brother, Jack Schuon, Macungie, PA. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a son, Mark; a granddaughter, Rebecca Jarvis and 2 brothers, Donald and 2 day old Edward.
A memorial service will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Phillip Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
