Mary Woodson Flannagan Eakle entered into rest on February 25, 2009. Born on September 18, 1918, she was preceded in death by her mother Josephine Woodson, husbands Dr. Gordon N. Flannagan and A. Carroll Eakle, one of her sons CWO Stanley Duke Flannagan, and six brothers. She is survived by one sister Margaret W. Campbell, Waynesboro,VA, one son Charles Neel Flannagan, Montmorenci, SC, three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was the retired Executive Assistant to the late Wilbur Driver, Director of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce. She was an accomplished golfer and she grew award-winning roses. She was an avid Bridge player. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC with The Rev. Kevin Medcalf officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Providence Presbyterian Church, 573 Town Creek Road, Aiken, SC 29803 or to a charity of choice.
