Wyatt Manley Johnson

Aiken-Wyatt Manley Johnson, 83, died Feb. 27. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, March 3 at St. Johns United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. George K. Howle officiating. The family will receive friends in the church following the service. Interment will be private in Historic Bethany Cemetery with full Military honors. He was born in Smithfield, NC to the late William Harvey and Sarah Elizabeth Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Lee Corbett Johnson and daughter Evalina Trudy Johnson Cox. He was a retired Chief Master Sgt in Special Operations in the United States Air Force, serving in WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. He also retired as Public Works Director for the City of Aiken. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Lions Club, DAV, and past Pres. Of South Carolina American Public Works Assoc. Survivors include his sons, Bill J. (Ruth) Johnson, West Columbia, SC and Wyatt Lee Johnson, Ridge Spring, SC; grandchildren, Keith A. Cox, Michael Johnson; great grandchildren, Vera Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Hayden Johnson, Ronnie Larry Cox and Nathaniel Cox.
