AIKEN, SC – ELIZABETH SCOTT-GREGORY, 89, died Monday, November 02, 2015 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native and life-long resident of Aiken, Lib was a daughter of the late Horace H. and Nancy Sanders Jordan. She was the foster daughter of Jessy J. and Ida Hankinson Widener. She was widowed twice, first by the late Marion A. Scott and then by the late Kenneth K. Gregory. She retired from BellSouth Telephone Co. as Assistant Manager of Operating Services with 32 years service. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, where she served as Secretary and Treasurer, and was active in many civic organizations. She was a former member and two-time President of the Business and Professional Women’s Club. Lib was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Group. Survivors include a daughter, Emmie Scott Furman (Tom), Aiken; a son, Marion A. Scott (Pam), Lexington; two grandsons, Scott T. Furman, Aiken, James M. Furman (Heidi), Welcome, MD; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Mason and Jocelyn Furman. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon beginning at 1 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 2 o’clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Cathy Cole will officiate. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the fifth floor nurses at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, especially Sharan as well as Pruitt and Regency Hospices.
