J C Hensley

AIKEN, SC-J.C. Hensley, 82, beloved husband of Pauline Williams Hensley, died Wednesday March 4, 2009 at his residents. Mr. Hensley was born in Ruth, NC to the late Rosco and Zoe Higgins Hensley. Mr. Hensley served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. They moved to Aiken in 1953 when Mr. Hensley accepted a job at the SRP with E. I. Dupont. After a 40year career he retired from Dupont and Westinghouse. Mr. Hensley attended Millbrook Baptist Church. Survivors other than his wife, Pauline Williams Hensley include one daughter, Angela (Travis) McKinney, Aiken, SC, two grandchildren, Ian McKinney and Drew McKinney, two sisters Mescal Hudson, Belton, SC, Hope Vaughn, Piedmont, SC, two brothers, Wayne Hensley, Aiken, SC, and Phil Hensley, Greenville, SC. His brother Steve Hensley preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Saturday, 2:00 PM at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
