Winston Everett Merrill

AIKEN, SC – WINSTON E. MERRILL, 87, husband of the late Christine Lyday Merrill, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at Harbor Chase of Aiken. A native of Henderson County, NC, Winston was a son of the late Otis Carl and Nellie Shipman Merrill. He was a veteran of the United States Army in Korea. He retired from DuPont at the Savannah River Plant and was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Kay Merrill, Aiken and a son, David Wayne Merrill, Lexington, SC. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Ethel Merrill Zellman. The family will receive friends Monday morning beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 o’clock. The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters will officiate. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
