George Hook AIKEN, SC - George Hook, 83 passed away Friday, December 4, 2015. He was born May 22, 1932 in New York City to Clyde and Helen Reisner Hook. He was a Navy Korean War Veteran, where he was a POW and was a recipient of the Purple Heart for Wounds Received in Action. He was retired as a Millwright and Welder at the Savannah River Plant after many years of service. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 393, Marine Corps Legion, Korean War Veterans Association, Aiken Blue Lodge, Shrine and York Lodge. He is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Aiken. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wife, Evelyn "Bo" Hook, Brother, Roy S. Hook He is survived by, Sons, George Hook Jr. and wife, Linda of Trenton SC.; Russell Hook and wife Crystal of Ridge Spring SC.; Sister, Doris Morris of Aiken, SC. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Monday, December 7, 2015 at The Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Hayne Ave. Aiken, SC 29801. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM at the Chapel of The Shellhouse Funeral Home. Additional Visitation will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home, 206 North Veterans Blvd, Glennville, GA. 30427 with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery with Military Honors. Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Haynes Ave. Aiken, SC and Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
