AIKEN, SC – CAROLINE PINSON BAKER, 62, beloved wife of Steven E. Baker, died peacefully, Friday, December 4, 2015 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA.
A native of Cross Hill, SC, Caroline was the daughter of the late James B., Jr. and Mary Elizabeth McGowan Pinson. She was a graduate of Erskine College and received her Master’s in Education from The Citadel. Prior to moving to Aiken in 1992 she taught middle school at Drayton Hall in Charleston. She then taught at Kennedy Middle School in Aiken from 1992 until she retired in 2007. She enjoyed gardening and playing Bridge.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Steve; two daughters, Laura Baker Miner (William), Summerland Key, FL and Amanda Baker Levy (Aaron), York, SC; three granddaughters, Madison Levy and Capri and Loralei Miner; a brother, James B. Pinson III (Ann), Meggett, SC.
A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock at St. Paul United Methodist Church, New Ellenton with The Revs. Robert Reeves and Michael Wood officiating. Interment will take place Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Liberty Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Cross Hill, SC.
