AIKEN, SC – Ms. Sara “Beth” Baldwin Thompson, 55, left this world December 12, 2015 at her residence.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, December 17th in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Dr. Henry L. Chennault officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Beth was a lifelong resident of Aiken, and daughter of the late Carlton and Jean Herndon Baldwin. She graduated Aiken High School and had a long career in administration with the Savannah River Site. She filled her spare time caring for her grandchildren and enjoying the family beach house in Edisto, SC.
She left four children Natalie Thompson, Ashton Rushing and husband Chris, April Thompson, and Brantley Thompson. Beth is also survived by her four brothers: Rob Cloaninger and wife Lori of Roswell, GA; Mac Baldwin and wife Catherine of Savannah, GA; John Baldwin and wife Jan of Aiken, SC; Ken Baldwin of Aiken, SC and her sister, Martha Stapleton and husband Bern of Washington, DC. Beth also was a grandmother to three grandchildren, Joshua Wharton, Easton Stein, Emma Rushing, and several nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend.
